Arizona Pinion Pines are seen at mid level to high desert elevations.  Big L Ranch is nestled atop a mountain sitting at 6,000 feet above sea level.  As you continue to climb in elevation, the Pinions grow a bit thin and you will see more of the tall Ponderosa Pines.  Pinion Pine clippings smell great and look beautiful.  Many a cowboy and indian made his bed out of pine needles and you can bet some of them were from the Pinion.
